Nigeria’s female basketball team D’Tigress beat Turkey 74-68 for their first ever win at the FIBA Women’s World Cup.
The African champions were trailing with 12 points in the first quarter, with Turkey leading 19-7.
But having already tasted defeat in the tournament, losing 86-68 to Australia, the girls were determined to not leave with tournament without any win.
ESPN writes that Sarah Ogoke led all scorers with 22 points, and outscored Turkey in all statistics.
