The Lagos State Government has presented cheques to the families who lost their loved ones in the Abule-Ado explosion.
On the morning of Sunday, March 15, 2020, there was an enormous explosion that led to loss of lives and properties in Abule-Ado, Satellite Town, Lagos.
The damage was extensive and the Lagos State Governor and his Deputy visited the scene of the explosion the following day. During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced he was launching a 2 Billion Naira relief fund for victims.
Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr Obafemi Hamzat announced on Twitter today, April 22, that the families of the 23 deceased identified by the state have been presented with relief cheques
Sharing photos from the presentation of the cheques, he wrote: "Today we presented cheques to the families of the 23 deceased victims of the Abule-Ado explosion. We hope the money will help provide some relief even as they miss their loved ones. We are also working with safety, power & other stake holders to find a lasting solution to issues."
