Plumber arrested for stealing TV set, palm oil, shoes and laptop from APC chieftain's house in Osun

Osun State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 33-year-old plumber, Gbenga Olamilekan, for looting the house of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwale Lawanson.

Parading the suspect on Monday, September 5, the Acting Public Relations Officer of the command, Kehinde Adeleke, said Olamilekan made away with television set, a keg of palm oil, two pairs of shoes, a laptop and some pieces of clothes from Lawnson's residence in Ilesa area of the state.

"The suspect is a plumber who has been working for the complainant, Hon Akinwale Lawanson for over six years," Adeleke stated.

The spokesperson explained that the suspect used to repair the faulty plumbing pipes and other connections in the six flat apartments of the complainant before he stole the items from the complainant’s house.

"The suspect allegedly gained access to the complainant’s house and carted away his television, a laptop, two pairs of canvas, kitchen utensils and a keg of palm oil

"The suspect made a confessional statement admitting his culpability of the alleged crime,” Adeleke stressed.

While speaking to newsmen, the suspect confessed he committed the offence, claiming he intended to return the items after making use of them.

"I am a close ally to Honourable (Lawanson) and we use to hang out together. I took the items truly but was apprehended." he said.
