The management of Air Peace has denied reports claiming it disrespected the Emir of Kano.
LIB had earlier reported that the chief protocol officer of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, had written a petition to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, asking for punitive measures to be taken against Air Peace over its refusal to delay its scheduled Lagos-Kano flight in order to carry the monarch. In a statement released this evening, Air Peace authorities say rather than disrespect the Emir, they acted in a manner to protect the Emir from embarrassment. According to the statement, there would have been an uproar if the aircraft which was about to take off was delayed for an hour just for the monarch and his entourage to enter the plane.
