''You have no right to ask me that question''- Policemen back down after human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu challenged their colleague for asking him what he does for a living

Policemen in the Badore area of Lagos state were forced to back down after human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, challenged their colleague who stopped a car he was riding in to search it.

According to Harrison, he was on his way when the police officer pulled him over and inquired what he did for a living.

Harrison replied saying he had no right to ask him that question adding that the other thing he had a right to do was conduct his stop and search. This infuriated the officer who ordered him to come down from the vehicle. When Harrison got down, the police officer repeated his question and Harrison maintained he had no right to ask him what he does for a living.

It was at this point that a senior officer (pictured above) stepped in and intervened. He apologized to Harrison and allowed him to continue his journey.

''We are on stop and search. We search vehicles and we search people in person. I am sorry for the way he put it for you. All he was supposed to have done was to say please come down, we want to search the vehicle and we want to search you.''the senior police officer said
