Cristiano Ronaldo has been crowned as the best Portuguese Player of the Year for the 10th time. 
The 34-year-old who has been winning the award since 2007 took the top gong each year except in 2010 and 2014 when Simao and Pepe respectively won the awards.

The Juventus striker beat off competition from Atletico Madrid starlet Joao Felix, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, and Wolves' Ruben Neves to win the award on Monday night( September 2) at the Carlos Lopes Pavilion in Lisbon. 

In his acceptance speech, Ronaldo said: 'This world is so fast, with the social media, the press, it's been wild,' Ronaldo said.

'It's been an extremely complicated year on a personal level. Don't let anyone pull you down.

'I can't help but mention that Sporting deserves a little prize. Next time.'

Bruno Lage, Benfica boss, was also recognised with the Manager of the Year award.

Male Football Coach of the Year: Bruno Lage (Benfica)
Female Coach of the Year: Miguel Santos (Braga)  
Men's Team of the Year: Benfica
Women's Team of the Year: Benfica
