'The corruption taking place in higher institutions of learning is so alarming' - EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has reiterated his resolve and that of the Commission to make the fight against economic and financial crimes more severe in Nigerian higher institutions of learning.
Hamza Ridwan, second-in-command, Maiduguri Zonal Office spoke on behalf of Magu when a delegation of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone C, comprising North-east and North-central zones came on a courtesy visit in Maiduguri Zonal office.
According to Magu: “The fight against corruption in the higher institutions of learning across the North-east, North-central and the country at large is not a new one to the Commission. But the Commission cannot do it alone; we need the collaboration of stakeholders like the students union representatives.
“The corruption taking place in higher institutions of learning is so alarming and we need you to notify us with facts and your identity will not be disclosed. When you hear complaints from academic and non-academic staff in your various institutions, you should be courageous to come and report to the Commission."
As leaders of tomorrow, Magu urged Nigerian students to shun corruption. “Make sure you shun corruption at this stage, because you are representing students who are the leaders of tomorrow and the general public as well."
