Anthony Joshua meets his mum for the last time before the fight of his life, reveals she doesn't watch his fights

On Saturday, Anthony Joshua will square up against Wladimir Klitschko in what will be the biggest fight of his career so far. He visited his mum Yeta Odusanya for one last time before he steps onto the ring. The British boxer shared a pic he took with her and captioned it: 'See you on Sunday mum x'.

She has never seen her son fight and won't be in attendance, as watching her son take blow after blow goes against every woman's maternal instincts, he said.
Joshua has previously revealed that he doesn't like his mum to watch him when he is in the ring, saying:
'I don’t really let my mum come to my fights. It’s not a place you want to see your kid, I don’t think...a fight.'

Don’t wish us dead, you still need our mentoring- Obasanjo tells Nigerian youths

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday, appealed to Nigerian youths to desist from wishing their past leaders, including him dead, as the youths still need their mentoring and advise‎. Obasanjo made the appeal when he spoke during the Youth Governance Dialogue organized by the Youth Development Centre arm of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library(OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital‎.

"Don’t wish us dead, don’t wish us to disappear because you will need us. You need us mentors and advisers to mentor and prepare you for the future. You need our experience and assistance of some of us to guide you through life. You should not lose hope, you should not feel frustrated. Whenever I go, they always ask me what is my fear about Nigeria and Africa. And I said my greatest fear is youth anger, frustrations and youth explosion which have no bound.
We have the Boko haram in the north, the MASSOB and IPOB in the South East, the militants in the Niger Delta and the Oodua Peoples Congress in the Southwest. All of these are expression of anger and frustrations. We have what it takes to be great as a nation and we can’t transform this country without the youths. My greatest hope in this country is also the youth. You the youth should work to help yourselves. You must be ready to pay the price for what you stand for,”he said.

'Hot felon' Jeremy Meeks deported from the UK less than 8 hours after he landed for a fashion shoot

Less than eight hours after he arrived London's Heathrow Airport, Meeks, 32, was detained by UK border officials and banned from entering the country despite the fact that he had the correct papers and a letter from his parole officer. He was in the UK to shoot a series of magazine covers, according to his manager Jim Jordan.

But on arriving in London on Monday, Meeks was detained by UK border officials and banned from entering the country, despite claiming to have the correct paperwork and a letter from his parole officer. Meek, who is from Stockton, California was flown back to the US, and landed in New York on Monday night. His wife and manager who were traveling with him are still in a hotel in London.

His manager, Jim Jordan narrated the incident to DailyMail. Meeks’ wife and manager Jim Jordan, who were traveling with him, are currently holed up in a hotel in London.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Jordan said:

"We went into the UK and we went through immigration and they detained Jeremy. He wasn’t arrested but they deported him out of the country. They wouldn’t let him come into the country. He is really upset. He was police-escorted onto the plane."

A video shot by Meeks at the airport shows him being escorted onto the flight accompanied by officials and Meeks did not seem pleased in it. Pointing to his escort, he said:

“I’m sick of this s***. I’ve been denied. London don’t want me here having served my time. S*** is crazy.”

Meeks became famous in 2014 when the Stockton Police Department posted his mugshot on their website, following his arrest for street terrorism [gang activity] and a misdemeanor charge of resisting/obstructing justice. His photo went viral because of his good looks with internet users branding him “the hottest convict ever.”

He was sentenced to 2 years in prison in 2015 but was released in March 2016 for good behavior. Immediately after his release, model agencies fell over themselves to have him model for them. Meeks embarked on a modeling career then and appeared on the catwalk at Phillip Plein during New York Fashion Week in February. He has also completed his first cover shoot – for British magazine Man About Town, with the issue featuring the felon due to launch this Thursday.

Meeks, his wife Melissa, and his manager Jim Jordan, had flown to London to attend the launch party but while Jordan's passport was stamped at the airport, Meeks was ordered to stand aside and he was interviewed for the next eight hours, fingerprinted and searched before being told he could not enter the UK and escorted onto a New York bound American Airlines flight. Jordan said Meek had all the correct papers  and had obtained a work visa for the trip, yet he was not allowed into the country.

“We flew to London from Los Angeles this morning. We got there, and Jeremy and I walked up to the customs office together. They stamped my passport. They looked at Jeremy’s passport and they said, could you guys go sit over there. So they put us in this sectioned off section and we were sitting there for an over an hour,” Jordan said.

“Then they came to me and asked if I could go through customs without Jeremy. I started getting calls from Jeremy, saying hey, they’re putting me in this room and there’s another guy in here and the guy has been here for about eight hours. He said they were interviewing me, they’re going to do a search and they’re doing all these things.

“They did a four-hour interrogation, they took a s*** ton of pictures of him. They strip-searched him, they fingerprinted him. They locked him in a small room for hours. They took his passport from him, they didn’t give him his passport back. They basically said, you cannot come into the UK with no explanation. Jeremy is really sad, he’s just really sad.”

Jordan says he will visit the US Embassy in London to seek assistance and will also make sure Meeks’ wife can continue her trip to the UK.

"If you had pictures of everything I had done when I was in high school, I probably wouldn't have been president" - Obama

Former president Barack Obama said this during a round-table event with students in Chicago discussing politics and civic engagement yesterday. According to him;
"If you had pictures of everything I had done when I was in high school, I probably wouldn't have been president of the United states. So I would advice all of you to be a little more circumspect about your selfies and what you take pictures of. Just a suggestion. But it is a real problem. It's one of the biggest challenges of being in Public life.
I wrote a book about my early journey "Dreams from My Father" a ;long time ago and because I had been pretty honest about the struggles I went through as a young man, when I ran for office, there was something revealed about the guy smoked pot (Cannabis smoking) and I was like; Yeah I know, It's in my book. And I learned from that, I didn't sugarcoat it or suggest somehow that it was something I recommend for everybody. But that's what teenage kids did at that age when/where I was growing up. Not everybody, some were wiser than me but I wasn't then wise. So I think the best you can do is to own your life and your mistakes and the changes that you go through."

Terrorist kills one officer, wounds two others in an ambush on the Champs Elysees, Paris

A policeman was shot dead while two other police officers were seriously wounded by a Kalashnikov-wielding (AK-47) gunman on the Champs Elysees in central Paris - just three days before the French presidential election. ISIS has since claimed the attack, but the French authorities say they don't have a connection of the shooter to ISIS yet.
The gunman, identified as 39-year-old Karim C - who was jailed for 20 years for trying to kill officers in 2001 was said to have parked his Audi , walked up to police in a van an opened fire after police stopped at a red light on the world famous avenue, Champs Elysees.
As soon as he shot at the policemen, the gunmen made no attempt to run and hide. French police said the attack was probably a 'terrorist act' and dramatic video footage captured the moment police shot at the assailant, who later died.
The fatal incident unfolded as presidential candidates, including National Front party leader Marine Le Pen, debated on a TV show nearby before Sunday's election. Both Fillon and National Front leader Marine Le Pen have cancelled scheduled events tomorrow following the attack. All candidates involved in the race to become the next French head of state have expressed their horror at the attack.
Police have now launched a desperate manhunt for a second suspect after heavily armed officers flooded the area in the heart of the French capital.
Officers have been searching the home of the alleged shooter - who was known to security services and had been flagged as an 'extremist' - in east Paris.
The gunman was previously jailed for 20 years for previously wanting to kill police' in 2001 but is believed to have been released early in 2016

Karim C, who used the alias 'Abu Yousuf the Belgian' had reportedly made several threats to kill police using the social media app Telegram, an instant messaging service.
Karim was born in France and lived in Chelles, a commuter town close to Paris.

The latest attack in the heart of Paris so close to an election could send voters flocking to far-right leader Marine Le Pen on Sunday. The National Front leader Thursday evening said the terror threat facing France stemmed from 'laxity', and within minutes of the attack tweeted her solidarity with security forces.
A poll earlier this week found that more than half of French police officers plan to cast their vote for her at the election this weekend.

Egyptian archaeologists discover 8 mummies in 3,500-year-old tomb near ancient city of Luxor

Egyptian archaeologists have made a surprising discovery, having found eight mummies in a tomb near the ancient southern city of Luxor. The tomb believed to be 3,500-years-old also contained colourful wooden coffins and over 1,000 funerary statues.

The tomb, discovered in the Draa Abul Nagaa necropolis near the famed Valley of the Kings, dated roughly from 1,500 to 1,000 B.C and is believed to have belonged to a nobleman named Userhat who worked as the city judge, the Antiquities Ministry said in a statement. The death vault has not been fully excavated yet but so far, a lot of discoveries have been made. The mysterious tomb was opened to add more mummies during the 21st Dynasty, about 3,000 years ago, to protect them during a period when tomb-robbing was common. Ushabti figurines were often placed with the deceased in ancient Egyptian tombs to help with responsibilities in the afterlife. Hundreds of these figurines were also discovered in the tomb.

Antiquities Minister Khaled el-Enany said: "It was a surprise how much was being displayed inside. We found a large number of Ushabti (small carved figurines), more than 1,000 of them.  This is an important discovery."

Head of the archaeological mission, Mostafa el-Waziri, said: "There are 10 coffins and eight mummies. The excavation is ongoing."

The tomb is T-shaped and comprised an open courtyard leading to two halls, one containing four ancient coffins and the other including a chamber that houses six. Journalists and Egyptian archaeological teams thronged the tomb to see the newly discovered artefacts. Inside the tomb, archaeologists wearing white masks and latex gloves inspected the coffins. They were covered with intricate drawings in red, blue, black, green, and yellow, and featured the carved faces of the dead.

A mummy wrapped in linen which was inside one of the coffins was also examined by the archaeologists. A nine-metre shaft inside the tomb held the Ushabti figurines, as well as “wooden masks and a handle of a sarcophagus lid,” the Antiquities Ministry said in a statement. Another room in the tomb was also discovered but it has not yet been completely excavated. Nevine el-Aref, the spokeswoman for the antiquities ministry, said there is evidence and traces that new mummies could be discovered in the future.

New Report Says Google Voice Search Records And Keeps Conversations People Have Around Their Phones

Google could have a record of everything you have said around it for years, and you can listen to it yourself.

The company quietly records many of the conversations that people have around its products.

The feature works as a way of letting people search with their voice, and storing those recordings presumably lets Google improve its language recognition tools as well as the results that it gives to people.

But it also comes with an easy way of listening to and deleting all of the information that it collects. That’s done through a special page that brings together the information that Google has on you.

It’s found by heading to Google’s history page and looking at the long list of recordings. The company has a specific audio page and another for activity on the web, which will show you everywhere Google has a record of you being on the internet.

The new portal was introduced in June 2015 and so has been active for the last year – meaning that it is now probably full of various things you have said, which you thought might have been in private.

Everyone should cover up their laptop webcams right now, says FBI director
The recordings can function as a kind of diary, reminding you of the various places and situations that you and your phone have been in. But it’s also a reminder of just how much information is collected about you, and how intimate that information can be.

You'll see more if you've an Android phone, which can be activated at any time just by saying "OK, Google". But you may well also have recordings on there whatever devices you've interacted with Google using.

On the page, you can listen through all of the recordings. You can also see information about how the sound was recorded – whether it was through the Google app or elsewhere – as well as any transcription of what was said if Google has turned it into text successfully.

But perhaps the most useful – and least cringe-inducing – reason to visit the page is to delete everything from there, should you so wish. That can be done either by selecting specific recordings or deleting everything in one go.

To delete particular files, you can click the check box on the left and then move back to the top of the page and select “delete”. To get rid of everything, you can press the “More” button, select “Delete options” and then “Advanced” and click through.

The easiest way to stop Google recording everything is to turn off the virtual assistant and never to use voice search. But that solution also gets at the central problem of much privacy and data use today – doing so cuts off one of the most useful things about having an Android phone or using Google search

Former American Idol finalist bags 70 years in jail for possession of child porn

26yr old Brandon Cox had the world at his feet when he made it to the final of American Idols in 2012. Fast forward 5 years later and he's thrown it all away.

In January, a jury found him guilty on seven counts of possession of child pornography and he was slapped with the maximum penalty of 70 years in jail.

275 indecent images of children were discovered on his computer but Cox who has a four year old son protested his innocence throughout the trial and at the sentencing.

District Attorney Randall Houston said:
'It’s very rare for us to deal with child porn cases where the images depict such young victims. Usually it may be young girls, 14 to 15, which is bad, don’t get me wrong. But he had photos and videos of toddlers, 4- or 5-year-olds. 'There were even photos of an infant engaged in sexual acts.'
He went on to describe Cox as 'sick.'

Cox was already under investigation when he entered and earned a spot on the final round of 'Idol,' with his files drawing he attention of investigators in 2011. It is unclear if producers of the show were aware of this at that time.

Assistant District Attorney Kristy Peoples said:
'We are talking about toddlers, sexual penetration, oral sex, and the horrific nature of these photos and the quantity of the photos.' Cox plans to appeal his conviction.

Detroit Muslim doctor charged with genital mutilation on two girls

A Detroit-area doctor has been charged with performing genital mutilation on two young girls from Minnesota. Prosecutors say Dr. Jumana Nagarwala 44, of Northville, Michigan, was arrested Thursday, few days after two 7-year-old girls identified her as the person who performed medical procedures of Female genital mutilation(female circumcision) on them at a Livonia clinic in February of this year.
The FBI says the girls were accompanied to the clinic by their mothers.

Female genital mutilation of minors is illegal in the U.S. unless there's a legitimate health reason. Nagarwala will appear in Detroit federal court Thursday. It's unclear if she has a lawyer yet. In a court filing, the FBI says Nagarwala denied performing genital mutilation.

The FBI also says the doctor is a member of a cultural community that believes in the practice.

Nagarwala is also charged with transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and making a false statement to a federal officer.

Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel Lemisch said in a statement:
'Female genital mutilation constitutes a particularly brutal form of violence against women and girls. It is also a serious federal felony in the United States. The practice has no place in modern society and those who perform FGM on minors will be held accountable under federal law'.
'According to the complaint, despite her oath to care for her patients, Dr. Nagarwala is alleged to have performed horrifying acts of brutality on the most vulnerable victims,' acting Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Blanco of the Justice Department's Criminal Division added.
'The Department of Justice is committed to stopping female genital mutilation in this country, and will use the full power of the law to ensure that no girls suffer such physical and emotional abuse.'
Nagarwala is reportedly part of a Gujarati-speaking Muslim community in Michigan. She lives in Northville with her husband, Moiz Yusuf Nagarwala, 48, who works at Visteon Corporation, an 'automotive electronics supplier'.

The FBI had launched an investigation after receiving a tip that Nagarwala had performed female genital mutilation on two seven-year-old girls at a Livonia medical clinic, according to the criminal complaint.
The girls said they were told to keep the trip secret.
One of the girls told the FBI that Nagarwala 'pinched' her on the 'place where she goes pee.' 'adding that they were told not to talk about the procedure,' FBI Special Agent Kevin Swanson wrote in the complaint.

A subsequent medical examination showed that the young girls' genitals did not appear normal and a section had been altered or removed.
'Finally, the doctor observed some scar tissue and small healing lacerations,' the agent wrote.
The complaint details the second girl's experience with the doctor and she said she underwent a procedure and identified Nagarwala as the doctor.
'She said that she 'got a shot,' and that it hurt really badly and she screamed,' the FBI agent wrote. 'Her parents told her that the procedure is a secret and that she is not supposed to talk about it. '(The girl) said that after the procedure, she could barely walk, and that she felt pain all the way down to her ankle,' the agent continued.
A subsequent medical exam showed the girl's genitalia had a small incision and a small tear.

On Monday, Minnesota Child Protective Services personnel and a federal agent interviewed the second girl's parents.

They confirmed the trip to Detroit, saying they took the girl to see Nagarwala for a 'cleansing' of extra skin, according to the court filing.

The girl was shown a photo of Nagarwala and said she was the doctor who performed the procedure, according to the FBI.

Henry Ford Hospital where Nagarwala  worked issued the following statement:
'The alleged criminal activity did not occur at any Henry Ford facility,' health system spokesman David Olejarz said Thursday. 'We would never support or condone anything related to this practice.'

Pope celebrates 'Holy Thursday in prison, washes the feet of 12 prison inmates

As part of the mass celebration, the pontiff bent to wash and kiss the right foot of 12 inmates in commemoration of Jesus' gesture of humility towards his 12 apostles on the night before he was crucified.

Two of the inmates, who participated in the ceremony are said to be serving life sentences while the remaining 10 are due to be released between 2019 and 2073.

After their breakup, it's been revealed that Mariah Carey always gave Bryan Tanaka $25k monthly, to buy her gifts

What does a backup dancer buy for his girlfriend who is worth around $520million? According to Life & Style magazine, sources close to Mariah Carey say the pop diva is aware her dancer beau, Bryan Tanaka doesn't rake in nearly as much cash as she does, so she gives him $25K monthly so he can buy her gifts for her.

Which was one of the reasons they broke up only after 5 months of dating. Mariah was reportedly tired of footing his bills and his jealousy. It was revealed that he was also very jealous of her relationship with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon who are parents to twin children.

Sources say the last straw for Tanaka was when Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon attended the Kids' Choice Awards together last month. He demanded she came home immediately but she ignored him.
Mariah was formerly engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer - who would reportedly showered her with expensive presents regularly - sources told the magazine that she always gave him money because she 'wants the same treatment from Bryan'. 'She doesn’t care that he’s using her money to do it,' said the insider.
