Clumsy street robber who stole a phone and left his own phone at the scene jailed for over three years

A 30 year old street robber, Mark Mick of Highbury New Park, Islington, who stole a phone, but left his own phone at the scene has been jailed. Mick was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment at Wood Green Crown Court on Monday, June 27.
The court heard how at 11:50pm on 21 December 2015, the victim, a 30 year-old woman, was walking along Clissold Crescent N16 while using her mobile phone when she was approached from behind by Mick riding a pedal cycle.

Mick grabbed her phone by snatching it out of her hands and put the phone into the hooded top that he was wearing. However, she grabbed hold of the robber in an attempt to get her mobile phone back.

Mick then punched the victim on the side of the head. The punch knocked her backwards, but during the struggle the suspect dropped his own personal mobile phone. He made off leaving his own phone behind. The victim was not seriously injured, but was left in pain from the blow she had received.

Officers attended the scene and they began immediate enquiries on the mobile phone dropped by the suspect. As a result of their work, enquires began to find Mick. On 3 March 2016, he was arrested in Colindale.

An identity parade was conducted and the victim picked out Mark Mick as being the person who had robbed her. Mick was subsequently charged with the robbery and pleaded guilty. xxxDetective Constable Scott Johnson of Hackney CID, said:
"Mick robbed a lone woman and used violence to carry out the theft. Thankfully he left his own phone at the scene and we were able to indentify him as a suspect and arrest him. With the assistance of the victim we were able gather all the necessary evidence to charge him and I would like to thank her for her support and courage in bringing this man to justice.

Prison is too good for Vaso's killer says mother of student killed by Nigerian Uche Ejimonye

The mother of a student stabbed to death for teasing a friend about his looks said the "cold-blooded" killer should never be released from prison.

The accused Uche Ejimonye, 20, faces being sentenced to life today, June 23, by the Old Bailey after he was convicted of murdering Vaso Kakko, 17, in Holloway.

The court heard he slashed the teenager’s throat last November before plunging the blade into his back in revenge after being called "meathead" and teased for not having a girlfriend.

Vaso’s mother Zhaneta, 49, told the Standard:
"That monster was a cold-blooded, professional killer. He should never be released from jail."
                                                                Uche Ejimonye

Ejimonye left his victim to bleed to death in a communal garden and fled to Bognor Regis, where he was arrested a week later.

Ms Kakko attended all seven days of the trial but fled the court in tears when her son’s killer acted out the moment he “sliced him” in the witness box.
She described Vaso, an ex-pupil at St Mary Magdalene Academy who was taking a business apprenticeship while working as an estate agent, as “a hard-working, perfect boy” with ambitions to work in the City. At her home in Newington Green, with she lives with eldest son Bruno, 25, and where the walls are covered with photographs of the boy she lost.
"Prison is too good for Vaso’s killer" the devastated mother said. "He’s still breathing, he’s still alive and his family can still visit him. I had to bury my son. We only have pictures. My son wasn’t given a chance to grow up. Half of me died with him, the other half is with Bruno."
She disputed Ejimonye’s claims in court that he was acting in self-defence, saying:
"It was horrible to see and they tried to ruin my son’s good name. I thanked God the jury saw through his lies and came back saying guilty."
Ms Kakko moved to the UK from Greece when Vaso was four and said tougher action is needed to end the plague of knife crime.
"There needs to be stronger sentencing for people found with knives but it’s too late for my son." she said.

Chris Brown's manager sues him, says singer beat him to a pulp

Read the report from TMZ below..
Chris Brown has more legal woes ... the guy he hired to rehabilitate his image after the Rihanna beating is now suing Chris for allegedly doing the same to him. Mike G claims he was hired in 2012 not only to change Brown's image but to get him out of debt and off drugs. Mike G says he did well by Chris, who had a resurgence in popularity.
Things allegedly turned bad last month, but Mike G claims without provocation, Brown took him in a room, brutally attacked him with repeated punches to the face and neck, which landed him in the ER.
The lawsuit claims Brown, rather than being remorseful, began mocking Mike G on social media and bragging to friends about the beating. Mike G says Brown had the audacity to tell people working on his tour, if they got out of line he'd beat them just like he beat Mike G.

Mike G says Brown's rage was drug-fueled and the suit mention concern for retaliation from Brown's "gang member friends."
Mike G's attorney, Patty Glaser, tells TMZ, "We did everything we could to resolve this in a non-public way to avoid damage to Chris Brown. Regrettably, as outlined in our complaint, Chris Brown has proven to be his own worst enemy."

Update:

11:00 AM PT: Chris just responded to the lawsuit in an Instagram video, claiming he fired Mike G for stealing money from him. Mike G's lawyer says that's not true and they will be adding a defamation claim to the lawsuit.

Angry cop kills girlfriend and ex-girlfiend before turning the gun on himself

A police constable killed his girlfriend and ex-girlfriend and then turned his gun on himself, Daily Sun SA, reports.

Robbie Raburabu, a spokesman for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, said the trouble started when the constable’s ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old Leah Mahlangu-Magwala (pictured), visited his neighbour in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng on Thursday June 16.

Leah then learned that the constable, who cannot be named as his family has not yet been informed of his death, had a new girlfriend, Buhle Mabena (18).

"Mahlangu-Magwala went to his house for a while before returning to the neighbour’s house. Shortly after her visit they heard the constable and Mabena arguing," said Raburabu.

During the argument a gun went off. The neighbour and Mahlangu-Magwala rushed over to see what had happened.

"When they got there they saw Mabena had been shot in her face. The constable then opened the door and grabbed Mahlangu-Magwala. He shot her in the chest," said Raburabu.

The constable then shot himself in the head. He was found with his service pistol in his hand. All three victims died on the scene.

Colorado mum rescues her 5 year old son from the jaws of a Lion

On Friday evening, a Colorado woman who had left her 5 year old son and his older brother playing outside their home near the resort town of Aspen, ran out to her front yard when she heard her 5 year old son screaming and what she saw was terrifying. She saw a mountain lion hunched over her son and biting him.
The woman ran towards the lion, yanked away one of its paws and saw her son's whole head in its mouth.
She fought the Lion relentlessly and was able to pry its jaw open and get her son out of its mouth.
"She was able to pry the cat's jaws open," Pitkin County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Buglione said. "She's a hero."
The boy suffered deep cuts to his head, face and neck and was flown to a Denver hospital, while the mother suffered scratches on her leg and bite marks on her hand authorities said. She was treated and released.

"The boy was completely under the cat," Buglione told The Aspen Times.
The mother grabbed the lion's mouth and pried it open, freeing the boy who was also trying to free himself from the Lion. She then picked him up and ran away, the deputy said.

The boy's father had just returned from running an errand when he saw the commotion, he jumped in the car with his wife and son and called 911 as they sped to the Aspen hospital. The child was flown to Children's Hospital in Denver in fair condition.

The mountain lion was estimated to be about 2 years old and was not fully grown.
Buglione said:
"It wasn't a big cat,"  "Had it been a 110-pound lion, which I've seen around here, this would have been a much different story."
Wildlife officials killed two mountain lions in the area within several hours of the attack. The animals were being examined to determine if they were hungry, diseased or just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The lion in that incident, described as a small, yearling male, was tracked and killed.
