Ugandan medical doctors begin indefinite strike

Ugandan medical doctors begin indefinite?strike
Medical doctors in Uganda have began an indefinite strike at all government facilities, despite a reported threat to jail striking medics.
The country's doctors are protesting poor pay, a lack of medical equipment and what they say are the arbitrary arrests of their colleagues accused of corruption.
Uganda's Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda met with organisers to urge them to call off the walk out while the government looked into their demands.  However, his request was shot down with boos.  Last week, President Yoweri Museveni said he would call a state of emergency should the strike go ahead.

The Uganda Medical Association said he also threatened to arrest striking doctors although the president's press secretary denied this.

“Avoid divine curse like a plague” – Pastor Adeboye on Tithing

Pastor E.A. Adeboye
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), E. A. Adeboye has, during a sermon waded into the issue of tithing sweeping the Nigerian social media space.
Adeboye, during his sermon, asked that people avoid curses from God and pay their tithes, Daily Post reports.
“Do not let anybody get you into trouble by attracting God’s curse to yourself, please pay your tithe,” he said.
Avoid divine curse like a plaque, somebody show me something on the internet on the question of paying tithe or not and the fellow said tithe is suppose to be used to buy alcohol and drink in the church.
Now you know who is talking. Even mad people don’t go to church to drink alcohol. No matter how crazy that fellow is, ask him to come to church and drink beer, he will tell you that he is not that crazy, because even in his madness, he knows that it is the house of God and he will refuse to do such thing. But this fellow said otherwise that tithe ought to be used to drink alcohol.
I know who is talking and I did not want to worry myself about such person. But please do not let anybody get you into trouble by attracting God’s curse to yourself, please pay your tithe.
I have said it before and I will say it again and again, if your physical father curses you, it can be cancelled by your spiritual father, if your spiritual father curses you, it can be cancelled by the General Overseer, if your general overseer curses you, you can fast and pray to your father in heaven but if God curses you, where will you go?

Jose Mourinho appears in court to testify over tax fraud allegations

Jose Mourinho appears in court to testify?over tax fraud allegations
On Friday, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was grilled by a judge in Spain over accusations of a 3.3 million euro ($3.8 million) tax fraud during his time in charge of Real Madrid in 2011 and 2012.

After leaving the brief closed-door hearing, the 54-year-old told reporters he had paid everything he owed to the Spanish tax office.

Speaking outside the court in Pozuelo de Alarcon, he said “I left Spain in 2013 with the conviction that my fiscal situation was perfectly legal”.

“Two years later I was told that an investigation had been opened and that to regularise my situation I had to pay a certain amount. I did not debate it, did not appeal it, I paid and I signed an agreement of compliance with the state. Everything was settled. This is why I was here for just five minutes to say the same things I am telling you. I have nothing more to say” he said.

His court appearance comes just over 48 hours before he is set to return to Stamford Bridge to face old side Chelsea on Sunday.

Spanish prosecutors accuse Mourinho, who coached Madrid between 2010 and 2013, of failing to declare income of 1.6 million euros in 2011 and 1.7 million euros in 2012.  The basis for the case, as with a series of football stars based in Spain, is how income from Mourinho’s image rights was managed and declared.  Prosecutors believe by ceding his image rights to a series of companies based in tax havens, Mourinho committed fraud by not declaring the income those companies made from his image rights.

One year after, all is not well between Iyanya and Don Jazzy's Mavin records

LIB Exclusive: One year after, all is not well between Iyanya and Don Jazzy

As you read this, all is not well between Iyanya and Don Jazzy's Mavin records. Its barely One year after he was unveiled as a Mavin record artiste but the last few months has seen the realtionship between both parties deteriorate terribly and its not getting better.

Iyanya’s relationship with Mavin was confirmed by Don Jazzy on October 31, 2016 via an Instagram post that reads “SMD is pleased to welcome @Iyanya to the Mavin Family. Pls join us to welcome him & let the world known that we #Up2Sumting. #MavinActivated”

One year after there are visible cracks in the relationship between them and according to reliable inside sources 'they are both fed up with the arrangement'.

For starters, Iyanya who is also signed with Temple Company was treated to a soiree by close friends when he clocked 31 on Tuesday, October 31. The close-knitted event held at Crust and Cream, Victoria Island and noticeably, Mavin Records and its representatives were missing in the gathering.

That’s not all, his birthday went unnoticed by the label as its their custom via social media. A quick look at Mavin Records official social media platforms did not show any recognition of the singer’s birthday apart from a late post from Don Jazzy.

Another inside source tells LIB that 'The record label has not had a particularly great year. Most of the Mavin output has been poor apart from perhaps Tiwa Savage, Reekado and Johnny Drille'.
